Franco-German video game prize

OFAJ-DFJW—OUR STRONG PARTNER

The Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ-DFJW) is an official partner of SpielFabrique. By working together with this high-caliber partner, we can better promote and expand the relationships, projects, jobs, internships, experiences, co-productions, and financing, as well as distribution and marketing, between the game developers of both countries.

FRANCO-GERMAN VIDEO GAME PRIZE

Since 2016, SpielFabrique has organized the Franco-German Video Game Prize in cooperation with the OFAJ-DFJW. The award ceremony takes place every year in one of the two countries at a major event for professionals and video game fans.

     

Selection criteria:

>German or French citizenship or residence in one of the two countries

>Age under 30 years at the time of the award ceremony

>The winning team must be Franco-German or the project must have strong development/sales potential in the neighboring country

>Strong interest in Franco-German projects  or willingness to cooperate with the other country

>French winners are awarded the prize in Germany, and German winners in France, to present their artistic and technical talents in the other country

Edition 2021

The 6th edition of the prize was organized in collaboration with Business France, during the online Franco-German Game Night on the Occasion of the Gamescom 2021.

The Game Night was introduced by the prize ceremony. The OFAJ presented the prize  to the studio PlayTiX, one of our alumni.

PlayTiX is an innovative platform for ethical NFT games. A platform that offers a new business model for video games developers based on Blockchain and NFT revenues, and where gamers can play-to-earn for ethical reasons. PlayTiX is also developing several Games and one of them, Top Squad, is co-produced with a German Studio based in Berlin, Tiny Crocodile Studio.

Edition 2020

The 5th edition of the prize was organized in collaboration with Indie Arena Booth 2020.

This year, the prize was presented during a streaming to the studio Rivers and Wine, one of our teams of the tracks 2020, supported by Ubisoft Blue-Byte.

Edition 2019

The 4th edition of the prize was organized in collaboration with Business France.

During a cocktail, our teams pitched their projects in presence of representatives of Business France et other investistors.

This year, the prize was presented to the studio Seed by Seed, one of our alumni.

2018_Prix_fr_de_ludopium

Edition 2018

On the occasion of the 9th edition of Paris Games Week celebrated at the Porte de Versailles, Game Connection brought together several thousand professionals who came to talk about business and creativity.

   The prize for the third edition was won by Ludopium, one of the teams that participated in our acceleration program. “We are very happy to receive this award! We are committed to Franco-German cooperation. In summer 2016 we had the opportunity to present our prototype to an international jury in Angoulême. This presentation earned us a co-production with ARTE France. »

Edition 2017

The second Franco-German Prize for Video Game was awarded in the presence of the Consul General of France (France-Düsseldorf), Vincent Müller, at the Parisian studio Beat Me.
