We provide food and drinks at all our events. Travel and accommodation costs are not covered by the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the deadline for applications?

The call for applications closes after 15 January 2025, 23:59 CET.

Anybody who is representing an Indie videogame studio in the EU. Your studio needs to be a registered company, and you need to be actively working on an IP of your own.

The program’s tuition is €250,- for selected candidates from the EU and the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Ukraine, Tunisia.

Please note that we are not covering any travel or accommodation costs for the in-person workshops and events. For the final workshop in Düsseldorf, accommodation prices may be higher than usual due to Gamescom.

For studios from other countries, a tuition fee applies. Please reach out to matthes@spielfabrique.eu to learn more.

Yes! If you are from one of the following countries, you can apply normally: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Ukraine, Tunisia.

If you are not based in any of the countries above, you can still take part in the program, but you’ll have to pay a tuition fee to do so. We can offer support in finding partners who can help you pay this fee. Please reach out to matthes@spielfabrique.eu for more information.

The program will begin with an online kick-off on in March 2025. The final mandatory workshop of the program will be on 18 August 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

After that, you may still get invited to various pitching opportunities and exclusive events. The rest of the activities will be held online on our Discord server or on our platforms of communication.

Most of the different parts of the program take place online (Zoom, Discord…). However, we do run an in-person kick-off workshop in Málaga, Spain on 8-9 April 2025, and an in-person wrap-up workshop in Düsseldorf, Germany on 18 August 2025.

Attendance at these workshops is mandatory.

Since this is a largely publicly funded program, we require participants to attend all the workshops. Failure to do so may lead to an expulsion from the program.

Please note that some workshops are in-person and may require traveling.

We receive many applications to our program and places are limited. Your application will be reviewed by an independent jury of industry leaders, who will decide if you are going to be admitted to the program.

You know that your application has been received when you get a confirmation email. Please make sure to check your spam folders, too.

After receiving a confirmation email, you can still go back and edit or complete your application until the application deadline. If you are selected for a spot in the program, we will reach out to you for a call to onboard you. Please reach out to us, if you have not heard back from us by the 15th of March 2025.

We will inform you about whether or not your application has been successful by the 15th of March 2025.

We are happy to welcome any member of your team for all online parts of our program. Since we have to keep in mind health and safety regulations for our in-person events, we ask you to attend those alone. We therefore ask you to carefully choose the contact person before submitting your application, keeping travelling and attendance in mind.

Many people from the same studios are allowed on our Discord server, which is our main channel of communication.
Join the server here!

The program’s language, in both verbal and written communication, will be English.

Most people in the program are not native English speakers, so we are not expecting perfection. However, your mentor and other studios in the program may not speak your local language, so please make sure that your studio’s contact person can comfortably converse in English.

As part of our program and through our partner network, we offer a host of opportunities, many involving pitching in front of potential financiers – both through in-person events and online. Most of these opportunities have fewer spots than there are participants in the program, however, so we reserve the right to select, in case there are more interested applicants than spots available.

No. We are not an investment firm.

We are here to prepare you to pitch in front of publishers or investors. We invite you to exclusive events where potential financiers are present, and we connect you to our own network of publishers and investors, if we think your company is a good fit for them. Participants in our program vastly expand their network and pitching skills, and have a much higher chance of finding financial support.

After the last Workshop in Düsseldorf on the 18th of August 2025, the mentoring and workshops of the program are over and studios receive access to the Alumni benefits from SpielFabrique. However, most pitch events and opportunities that are exclusive to the program will be happening after the 18th of August 2025.

Alumni access new opportunities in the long term as part of our community: They fill different roles, for example as jurors or experts for future programs, they may get invited to exclusive events, or join other programs run by SpielFabrique and our partners.
